Warwick merchants plan for Ladies Night Out and Queen for a Day.
Warwick – It’s only a couple of weeks away and although it may be hard to imagine, the Downtown Warwick Merchants 13th Anniversary of the traditional celebration of “Ladies Night Out” and “Queen for a Day” may be even more spectacular than previous years.
This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday evening, Aug. 26, from 4 to 9 p.m. (rain date Aug. 27).
“Queen for a Day,” said event chair Tim Mullally, “is an opportunity for a special lady to be recognized by her family and friends for her generous spirit, caring heart and selfless nature.”
The winner, who will be crowned by Mayor Michael Newhard in Railroad Green Park, will receive a basket overflowing with gifts provided by local businesses. During Ladies Night Out, downtown Warwick buzzes with activity.
Everyone is invited although the ladies, in particular, can expect to indulge themselves with specials, refreshments and treats offered by participating merchants.
Just a few of this year’s attractions include dancing to DJ music, late shopping, outdoor cafes, Tarot card readings, makeovers and massages, henna tattooing, eye brow threading and free gifts.
