The original goal set by Teresa Thomas, mother, spinning instructor, personal trainer, kickboxing instructor and accomplished triathlete, was to help others adopt a healthy lifestyle.

On Friday, Oct. 21, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Mayor Michael Newhard and members of the Warwick Valley and Greenwood Lake Chambers of Commerce joined Thomas, her children, friends and staff to celebrate the first year anniversary of Pedal Power’s second office at 6 High St. in Warwick.

They were also there to celebrate the anniversary of Pedal Power’s three-year certification.

Thomas first started Pedal Power in her garage with just three indoor cycling bikes.

Not long after, yoga was added. And in September 2014, Pedal Power opened its first location on Windermere Avenue in Greenwood Lake.

Thomas offers spinning, power sculpt, yoga, Zumba and power and pedal, which is a class that combines strength training and spinning. The variety of classes, she explained, is designed to meet the needs of clients with differing abilities and time constraints.

The Warwick location on High Street featured the introduction of new equipment and new classes.

Indoor paddleboards, for example, are used for paddleboard yoga, circuit-training classes and off-season training for paddleboard athletes.
