It’s been five years since the Foot Spa & Tea Bar first opened its doors at 36 South St. in the village of Warwick.

And since then the business has welcomed both women and men who have found foot reflexology to be a welcome de-stressor, as well as an overall health enhancement.

On Thursday, Aug. 18, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors joined owner Jo-Ann Daly, her family and staff to celebrate the occasion with a ribbon-cutting.

“I can’t believe five years have come and gone” said Daly. “I am so happy that the community has embraced the practice of reflexology. We know the benefits of it and only hope that more people will come in to experience it.”

Reflexology, she explained, can help alleviate the stress of everyday life and that problems of the feet can result from wear and tear or as a result of other health problems.

Daly encouraged everyone to consult their physician or podiatrist if they experience any foot problems.

Reflexology, she added, can provide a deep sense of tranquility and can help with sleep and provide a general feeling of well-being.

“Many of our customers come out feeling so relaxed and quite a few of them fall asleep during the service” reported Daly.

On Thursday, Sept. 1, as a thank you to her loyal customers, the Foot Spa & Tea Bar will be offering its 50-minute service for $40. A free raffle will also be held for customers who have booked a service for that day. The prize is five gift certificates for the 50-minute service. Refreshments will also be served.

“We would like to thank you all who have made these past five years possible,” said Daly.

Warwick Foot Spa & Tea Bar hours are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
