Warwick Valley Humane Society President Suzyn Barron accepts a $1,500 donation from Warwick Valley Rotary Club President Neil Sinclair, left, and Rotarian and animal rights activist Roger Gibboni. The money will be added to $2,500 previously raised to finance $6,500 in surgery for two abused animals now housed at the animal shelter. The non-profit humane society, established in 1954 by former Warwick resident and movie actress Gretchen Wyler and her friends, is now housed at 48 Public Works Drive. Barron was a volunteer and a director for about 10 years before becoming president 16 years ago. For additional information or to donate, call 986-2473 or log on to www.wvhumane.org.
