The inaugural “Community Appreciation Day” at Merchant Square on Ronald Reagan Blvd. in Warwick is planned for Saturday, Aug. 10, rain or shine. Along with sales, lunch specials and raffles, one of the day’s highlights will be the “Tails of Talent” dog talent contest. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., participating merchants and restaurants will display available sale items, product information hand-outs, free samples and product demonstrations along the mall sidewalk. Restaurants will offer lunch specials as well. Select businesses will be raffling off gift certificates and merchandise to benefit the Warwick Valley Humane Society. Can your dog dance, skateboard, sing or do tricks – beg, roll over or twist. Then enter them into the “Tails of Talent” contest for the chance to win a fantastic prize (courtesy of Jockey Hollow Veterinary Hospital and Orchard Grove ) and earn the title of Merchant Square’s Most Talented Dog. The contest is open to all dogs and there is no entry fee. Donations and contributions will be accepted to benefit the Warwick Valley Humane Society.
